Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division
Westfield 2 Horley Town 0
COACH Chris Weller was sent off as high-flying Horley Town crashed at revived Westfield in the Combined Counties League Premier Division at Woking Park on Tuesday.
Weller was ordered from the visitors' dug out by referee Nicholas Brown after 84 minutes as tempers boiled over.
The Clarets claimed that they were on the wrong end of too many decisions and cautions on a frustrating night for Anthony Jupp's side.
Lively striker Andrew Mensah gave much travelled ex-Redhill striker Tony Reid's men a dream eighth minute lead, latching onto Ryan Marklew's through ball before beating goalkeeper George Hyde with a fierce finish.
After 15 minutes Mensah found Matt Jackson whose effort was cleared off the goal-line superbly by impressive left-back Jack Poplett.
Cometh the hour cometh the man as 50-goal star striker Ashley Nadesan replaced Leyton Regan and looked as lively as ever.
Nadesan netted for Millwall Under 21s in Monday afternoon's 4-2 home win against Barnsley at The Den as part of his trial period with The Lions.
However, success was ensured effectively for Westfield after 62 minutes when Mensah powered home his header from close range from Phil Moore's left-wing corner for 2-0, completing his impressive brace.
Captain Adam Pullin returned to skipper his side at the Woking-based ground, having been unavailable on Saturday.
Now boss Jupp must refocus his side on equalling their highest ever fifth placed finish to a top flight season by recording a best ever points tally.
The Clarets will be aiming to bounce back to winning ways again by “welcoming” lowly Chessington & Hook United to The New Defence for Thursday's rearranged league fixture which has been switched from Chalky Lane as the scheduled hosts’ pitch is unplayable. This comes before Farnham Town visit The New Defence on Saturday for Horley Town's penultimate home league game this season.
Horley Town: George Hyde, Scott Robson, Jack Poplett, Robert Burbidge, Adam Pullin (capt), Liam Cox, Ryan Brackpool, Ben Herdman, Leyton Regan (Ashley Nadesan 60 min), Richard Wetton (Connor Power 77 min), Justin Ford (Liam Giles 77 min). Unused subs: Nathan Jupp, Bailey Rumbelow.
