Three nil - 3 points - job done

Horley Town 3 - 0 Colliers Wood
A good result, and in the end a good performance, but not without its scary moments. First half was all Horley's and they never looked in danger. But they rarely penetrated Colliers defence. Just before halftime, some heavy pressure by Harris down the right, forced an error which Pullen pounced on, who powered into the box with a Colliers posse on his tail. A shot looked a difficult ask, so Pullen pulled it back to Dave Brown on the edge of the box who neatly slotted it past the keeper into the bottom right corner.
And then it was halftime. At 1-0 Horley deserved it, but Colliers came out very strongly in the second half. But lots of pressure didnt produce any goals, although Ian Chatfield was treated for a injury from a 50-50 ball. After 15 minutes, Parker came on for Hyett. John Eldred and Jack Poplett picked up yellows for challenges that may have gone unpunished on other occasions.
A Guscott long ball then put Harris clear but his lob over the approaching keeper hit the side netting. Then a real smart turn and run from Pullin on the centre circle, saw him beat the opposition to the box, but the cross couldnt find Parker. A corner followed later and Parker blocked the keeper, whose ineffectual punch was helped over the line by Poplett.
The game was petering out as Constable came on for Pullin, when a defensive mistake put Parker clear on 86 and he placed the ball in the bottom right corner for a well deserved 3-0.
The Colliers Wood No. 10 then last his head and got a straight red for a stamp on Eldred.
A good result and 3 points in the bag.
