Horley Town 2 - 0 Bedfont Sports

Eldred gets his head on it

Horley kept their latest winning run alive yesterday with a late 2-0 win in their Combined Counties League Premier Division game againt Bedfont Sports at Horley yesterday. With their next 4 games at home, its a good bet that they may be able to stretch it further.

the game was very even throughout, with both sides making chances, but both sides failing to convert those chances.

Most of Horley's chances in the first half seemed to work their way down the right wing, with Dave Brown getting on the end of an Eldred cross to the back post, but he nodded the ball wide. And just before half-time Pullin used his pace and strength to work some space down the right and managed to get a great low cross across the penalty area, for Parker sliding in to get a touch. But although the ball beat the keeper, it trickled wide.

As Bedfont broke upfield, Horley conceded a freekick in a dangerous area. Chatfield, in the Horley goal, made a great save lowdown to his left as Bedfont managed to bend the ball around the wall.

0 - 0 at halftime seemed a deserved score. It all became more of the same in the second half. Parker went close early on. But Bedfont forced a great save from Chatfield. Harris came on for Parker, slotted in down the right, and looked very lively right from the start.

Although the match was played in a very fair sprit, there were 5 yellow cards. But only one was for Horley.

Pullin finally opened the scoring with less than 15 minutes left with a cool shot across the keeper to the bottom left corner. On 85, Harris released Pullin down the right and once he cleared the chasing defence, he unselfishly squared the ball for Brown to finish.

A great 2-0 result means that Horley go into Tuesdays encounter with bottom of the table Dorking with great confidence.
