Horley travelled away for their first away game of 2010 against Ash United Football Club. The team welcomed back Anthony Jupp at the back. Town tore into Ash from the start playing some good controlled

football.With eleven minutes played a good corner from Michale Death saw the ball go through to skipper Danny Guscott who placed the ball through to Luke Jones whose fantastic header had to be headed away on the line by the home defender.A minute later Michael Death beat the offside trap and the keeper but his shot went just wide of the upright.With twenty four minutes played Ash were awarded a penalty after Micky Norris had won the ball fair and square but the referee awarded a penalty. The first thing goal keeper Dean Culpit had to do all game was pick the ball out of the net from the penalty.After twenty five minutes Danny guscott went in on a tackle and caught the Ash player in the box and he was red carded and sent of and Ash were awarded their second penalty of the game, which they scored to make it two nil to Ash with the only chances for Ash to score coming form the penalty spot. The ten men of Horley now dug in and continued to try and play the football in the difficult conditions.With thirteen left Michael death but John Eldred through in the box and he had his shirt pulled and went down in the box and the referee award his third penalty of the night. Michael Death stepped up and scored from the penalty spot to make it two one.Ash picked up a booking for arguing with the referee,With seven minutes left Michael Death again beat the offside trap and the defender only to see his shot go just wide of the upright again.In the closing minute Dean Culpit pulled of a good save for the Town to keep them in the game diving to his left.This was followed by Ash having a long range shot which hit the cross bar but bounced out safely.Town came out for the second half and still looked the better of the teams.Ash scored after a minute via a hand ball and the referee disallowed the goal. with thirteen played Luke Jones up front for Town was pulled down in the box but this time the referee waved play on despite this being the most obvious penalty of the night.A minute later a corner form Michael Death saw Ash scramble the ball away in a massive goal mouth scramble.Town then used all three subs with Jamie Risebrow, Luke Raggettii and Nathan Jupp all coming on with Michael Death, Luke Jones and Mickey Norris going off. Nathan Jupp soon got in the thick of it and his long range shot was saved at the second attempt by the home keeper.With four minutes left a good free kick form Luke Raggettii found the head of Nathan Jupp but the home keeper saved.In the dying minutes both team had chances to score with Dean Culpitt again pulling of a good save.Ash United picked up there fourth booking of the night in another hard tackle.This was a unlucky performance as town were the better of the two teams on the night but the penalties and the sending off made the difference in the end.
