Bookham 2 Horley Town 3
The Senior Teams
Bookham 2 Horley Town 3
First away win of 2010
Town travelled away to Bookham who play at Dorkings Meadowbank home. The team was changed around following Tuesday game at Ash United.Michael Death and Luke Jones made way for Adam Pullen and
Jamie Risebrow up front and Anthony Jupp was missing at the back for Town. Town started well playing the football and had all the early play with Bookham's just having the long ball game. After seven minutes Luke Ragetti broke through the centre and shot just wide of the upright.A minute later and a goal mouth scramble saw skipper Danny Guscott clear the ball on the line twice before Town could scramble the ball away. From the corner Town keeper Dean Culpit pulled off a wonderful save which saw him headbutting the upright and needing treatment. In the fourteenth minute John Eldred broke into the box and fired just wide of the upright.A few minutes later the same thing happened and again the ball went just wide of the upright.Play switched to the other end and again Dean Culpit pulled of a good save. With twenty five minutes played Luke Ragetti picked the ball up in midfield and ran at the Bookham defence he beat two defenders before planting the ball into the back of the net much to the delight of the travelling Horley Town supporters in the very spartan crowd.Bookham then had a chance to score before a Jamie Risbrow had a shot go just over the cross bar.In the 30th minute Jame Risbrow broke through the centre beat the defender and fired the ball home to put Horley two nil up.With eleven minutes left Bookham got back into the game as they scored after a cross from the right.Town went in at half time two one up. In the second half Bookham broke and the forward dived in the box but the referee booked him for diving. With sixty minutes played a massive goal mouth scramble which saw Horley unable to clear and Bookham score. With twenty minutes left a great cross from Adam Pullen found Jamie Risbrow who fired in the winning goal for Town to make it three two.Bookham then scored in a goal mouth scramble but the goal was disallowed for being offside.Town then changed the forward line to freshen things up.Town continued to attack but could not add to the score line but deserved the first Away League win since September. Well done lads.
