Town made some changes from Saturday defeat at Windsor with Liam Cox coming in at the back Colin Harvey being dropped to the bench, mark Gilbert coming into midfield in place of John Eldred who was also on the bench and Darren tidy in place of Nathan Jupp. Town were still without skipper Anthony Jupp who is suspended. After only 30 seconds Walton made themselves known when keeper Ian Chatfield cleared the ball. With eleven played Town won a corner and Ben Herdman had a shot which was deflected away from goal.

A minute later a good cross from Adam Pullen saw Darren Tidy hit a blockbuster shot which took a wicked deflection on the six yard line and went out for a corner. With sixteen played Walton claimed a hand ball in the area and many a referee would have given it but he waved play on. Play switched and Ian Chatfield did well saving on the line to keep town in the game.With twenty five played Kyle Hough broke into the box but unfortunately his shot went wide of the upright. With forty played first Kyle Hough had a chance which saw the Walton keeper flap at the ball but he managed to clear the ball. Darren tidy was then replaced with Colin Harvey. In the last minute of the half the Wallton forward ran the length of the pitch beat three defender and shot but Chatfield pulled of a good save to make it still one nil at half time.

With two played Town piled on the pressure with two consecutive corners but no shots on target. With four played Walton broke on the right hand side and scored to make it two nil. With twenty minutes left Mark Gilbert was replaced by Mithun Nayee. With nineteen left Walton scored in the bottom corner to make it three nil. With thirteen left Kyle Hough was replaced with Nathan Jupp. With twelve left Nathan Jupp set up Kevin Lock whose shot was well saved by the Walton keeper Rodney Chineshe.With eight left Ben Herdman had a shot which went over the cross bar. With six left Ian Chatfield came well out of goal but the Walton forward shot and scored and made it four nil on the night. In the last minute of the game Jack Poplett had a long range shot which hit the defenders hand and went out for a corner. From the corner Mithun Nayee had a shot saved on the line by the Walton keeper.
