A game with two sides playing great football Town were just let down by some poor refereeing against the League Leaders.The game had everything, goals, sending off's ,four penalties and some good and bad goals.

Against the League leaders Town started well and took a deserved lead after only one minute a cross from the wing and Adam Pullen powered the ball home to put Town one nil in front.Tow minutes later and a bad trip by the Guildford number three Rayner on John Edldred saw Town go close from the free kick.Play switched and Tom Winsor did a great tackle at the back for Town.With fourteen played top goal scorer Kyle Hough broke free beat the offside trap and with only the keeper Anthony Hall to beat he struck the keepers legs , the ball went out to Mithun Nayee whose powerful shot beat the keeper but was cleared on the line.With seventeen played Ian Chatfield came out and took the Guildford forward down and he got a yellow card and Guildford scored from the penalty spot.With twenty played Ben Herdman picked up a booking.With twenty five played a corner was cleared on the line and after the ball went up field only for referee to got in the way of Adam Pullen trying to get the ball and Guildford scored number two. With thirty played Kevin Lock put Mithun Nayee through he controlled the ball well broke free and fired just over the cross bar.With thirty five played skipper Anthony Jupp got flattened in the box by the Guildford player pushing him in the back but the referee just waved play on.Next the Guildford skipper Simon Cooper got booked for a foul on on star man Adam Pullen who was causing allsorts of trouble to Guildford.He was then replaced by Mark Gilbert returning from his loan spell at Oakwood Football Club. Town went in at half time two one down. Town came out and started playing some great football and after only three minute the turning point in the game saw the Guildford skipper pull Kyle Hough down when he was through on goal in the area. The referee awareded a penalty but when he realised he had already booked the Guildford skipper he did not book him and send him of to the amazement of the players and supporters. Kyle Hough powered the ball home from the penalty spot to make it two two.(See the goal on the Horley U Tube site) A minute later a long range shot from Guildford went under the body of Ian Chatfield and into the back of the net to make it three two to Guildford.This was then followed by Ian Chatfield coming out of goal going for the ball and catching the Guildford foward. This time the referee sent him of yet he had not sent the Guildford player off for the same thing. Sub Mark Gilbert donned the gloves as Town had no reserve keeper. The frst thing he had to do was get the ball out of the back of the net from the penalty.With fifteen played Mark Gilbert got down well to save at the near post.Next it was Ben Herdman turn to go close with a shot which beat the keeper but it was cleared on the line by the defender.Next John Eldred got pulled down on the edge of the box from the free kick Jack Poplett free kick beat the keeper but hit the cross bar (see the goal on Horley's U Tube site).With twenty five played another Guildford player Barbados International Elvis Defreitas went in the referee's book.Town then replaced Mitchan Nayee with Sam Morgan.With twenty six played a good cross from Jack Poplett to Sam Morgan whose shot was turned round the post by the keeper.With thirty played john Edldred was replaced with Luke Regetti.With thirty one played Kevin Lock broke into the box but unfortunately his shot was deflected wide of the upright. Next Liam Cox was booked by the referee.From the free kick Mark Gilbert rose like a salmon to tip the ball round the post.With ten minutes left Kevin Lock lost the ball in midfield and Guildford ran in to scorer number five.With five left Jack Poplett was booked.With three left Kyle Hough broke into the box and was pulled down again, again the referee did not even book the player!. Luke Ragetti got booked for asking the referee why he would not book or sent of the Guildford players.
