Horley Town 5 Maidenbower Blk 0
Sunday 30th October 2011
Horley Town were back to their winning ways with a 5 goal blitz against Maidenbower Blk. The game started with some very neat passing which led to Charlie Whiteside scoring the first goal within the first few minutes of the game. After a poor kick out from the Maidenbower keeper, Harvey Banner was the first to the ball to score the second goal.
In the second half Horley continued to put pressure on the opposition keeper and show off some of the passing that they had been practising the day before in training. Taylor Whelan scored to make it 3-0 and then took the corner from which Toby Giraldo scored his first goal of the season. Harvey Craze finished off the scoring with a super shot from outside the area. Charlie Whiteside in goal for the second half then made a great save at the last minute to help Horley keep a clean sheet.
Haydn Kenchington Miles and Alex Field both had an impressive debut.
Horley Town 0 Oakwood Red 0
Sunday 23rd October 2011
Horley Town had a frustrating draw against Oakwood having had the most possession and chances on goal. Taylor Whelan back in goal had a quiet first half as all the action was at the other end of the pitch. It was a physical first half with lots of tackles and the boys gave away quite a few free kicks.
The second half saw more of the same with Horley having some chances in front of goal but unable to score. Again, Horley had most of the play until the last minute when Oakwood almost scored.

Horley made quite a few changes in the second half one of which saw Taylor Whelan start in goal for the first time this season. He then made a couple of great saves which kept Horley in the game, but it was not to be as Three Bridges went on to score their second goal and win the game.
